As E.T. is fabless company, application for ISO/TS 16949 is not possible according to recommandations from IATF (International Automotive Task Force). Nevertheless, ET will integrate specific automotive requirements into its Quality Management System.
What is the content of internal RAM after a watchdog reset ?
The content of the RAM is unchanged after a watchdog reset. In fact, while the RAM is correctly powered, its content is not affected.
Not able to write in peripheral registers after power up
It is necessary before to attempting any write access in a peripheral register, to enable the peripheral clock. The register which allows to enable the dedicated clock is called ECR (Enable Clock Register) and it is located at the offset 0x50 in relation to the peripheral base address.
Beware, peripherals which are multiplexed with PIO’s have two dedicated clocks : one for the PIO registers and another for the module registers.
How to Wake Up the ARMŽ Core clock once it has been disabled ?
Before disabling the ARMŽ Core Clock by setting the bit in the DCR register of the PRC module, it is necessary to configure an (external or internal) interrupt to be able to wake up the ARMŽ Core Clock when needed. Once the (external or internal) interrupt is triggered, the ARMŽ Core Clock will be enabled until a new write in the DCR register of the PRC module is performed.
What is the difference between ARMŽ and THUMB modes ?
ARMŽ and Thumb are two different instruction sets supported by ARM cores with a T in their name. For instance, ARMŽ7 TDMI supports Thumb mode.
ARMŽ instructions are 32 bits wide, and Thumb instructions are 16 bits wide. Thumb mode allows for code to be smaller, and can potentially be faster if the target has slow memory. ARM code fetched from a 32 bits wide memory is more powerful.
ARMŽ and Thumb code can be mixed in the same application to provide compact code size and good performance.
How to immediately stop PDC transfers ?
Users are able to stop PDC transfers by setting the TCR register of the corresponding PDC channel to 0.
It is necessary to write twice the value 0 in the TCR register to allow the PDC module to validate the request.
What is MODF (Mode Fault) bit ?
The MODF bit is an SPI signal which allows to detect a conflict on the Chip select 0 when it is configured in Master mode. This error is detected when an external device drives the SPI Chip select 0 low.
When a conflict is detected, the MODF bit is set in the SPI SR register which disables the SPI module.
Users won’t be able to re-enable the SPI module until the Chip select 0 is maintained low by the external device.
What is a remap command ?
MCU including an AMC module integrates a remap command which allows users to relocate the internal RAM and the external memory connected on NCS0.
By setting 1 in the RCR register of the AMC module, the user will switch the internal RAM from the base address 0x00300000 to the address 0x00000000. The external memory connected on NCS0 will be relocated at the base address specified by the user in CSR0 register of the AMC module.
How can I check the source of the latest reset ?
The register RSR (PRC module) gives the source of the latest reset.
0x6C means that the latest reset was an hardware reset
0x53 means that the latest reset was an internal reset.
How can I read the state of an external IRQ ?
You can have the status of the IRQ pin by reading the register IPR (GIC module).
Before, you have to configure the SMR register in order to have the IRQ as high level sensitive (SMRx = 0x20).
